UHMW-PE
Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) is highly resistant to abrasion and is therefore very wear resistant. These properties make it an ideal material in high abrasion environments. In the marine industry Dock Bumpers and Fender Panels are often made from UHMW-PE to protect the dock against damage caused by boats rubbing against it. Boat rub rails can also be made from UHMW-PE where they serve a similar purpose of protecting the boat.
ABS
ABS is a competitively priced sheet product with excellent strength and chemical resistance. It is also easy to bond to fibre glass. It can be produced in a variety of colors and with various textured surfaces. The product is very easy to thermoform into complex shapes for various boat fittings and containers.
Thin Polycarbonate
HighLine is able to offer thin Polycarbonate sheet (0.040″, 0.060″ and 0.080″ thickness), in clear, optical quality sheets. These sheets are not only incredibly strong but are also UV resistant. The thin sheet can be used as excellent window material for marine enclosures. They have been specially designed to allow them to be easily sown to form flexible enclosures. We have the option of providing material with a UV protected layer on both surfaces and with providing an abrasion resistant coating.
Thicker Polycarbonate sheet
Where high quality, rigid windows and windscreens are required HighLine has a range of advanced optical quality clear Polycarbonate sheet. Should it be required we are able to put various tints, including a glass tint, into the material to change the appearance. These windows and windscreens can be thermoformed to meet the requirements of the boat manufacturer. The windows are both light and impact resistant.
Metallic Polycarbonate
HighLine is able to offer a range of virtually unbreakable polycarbonate sheet with a metallic finish. The are a wide range of metallic color options. These sheets are able to replace some of the metallic components used in boat design, with a lighter, easier to fabricate material.
