A potential customer had secured a contact to produce helicopter windows for their nation’s military. The specification for these windows had requirements for stripping out certain wavelengths of light while also allowing for good visibility in both the visual and night vision goggle wavelength ranges. The customer also did not have experience in thermoforming polycarbonate as well as adding abrasion resistant coatings and de-icing systems.
HighLine was able to develop a custom polycarbonate sheet to meet the light transmission specifications.
HighLine was also able to manage the project and introduce thermo-formers, flow coaters and vapor deposition coaters to the customer to allow the complete system to be fabricated.
